Alterations and Repairs in Chandigarh

What we fix
- Buttons: loose buttons re-stitched and missing ones replaced, including shirt, trouser, coat and blazer buttons.
- Zips: broken or stuck zips replaced on trousers, jeans, skirts, dresses and jackets.
- Hems: trousers, skirts and kurtas shortened, or let down where there is enough fabric in the turn-up.
- Minor repairs: open seams, small tears along a seam, loose linings, and hooks and eyes on blouses and lehengas.
If a repair needs more than minor work, we will tell you before anything is done.
Book it alongside cleaning
Most repairs are spotted while getting ready: the button that falls off as you dress, the hem that catches a heel. Rather than keeping a separate pile for the tailor, hand the garment over with your next dry cleaning or laundry collection and mention the repair. It is cleaned, repaired and returned in the same order.
Our inspection team also notes loose buttons and weak seams when a garment arrives at the plant, so you may hear from us about a repair you had not noticed.
Small repairs that save a garment
Small repairs often keep an otherwise sound garment in use. Typical examples:
- A blazer with one cracked button, where replacing the full set restores a matched look.
- Trouser pocket linings worn through by keys and phones.
- A waistband hook on formal trousers that has pulled loose.
- Children’s uniform trousers and kurtas let down at the hem as they grow, where there is fabric to spare.
- Kurtas and tops with side seams that have opened at the slit.
- Jacket zips that have lost a tooth or a slider.
Fixing these early stops a small tear from spreading and keeps the garment in use for many more seasons.
How charges work
Alteration and repair charges depend on the garment and the work involved, so they are not on the standard price list. We confirm the charge with you before work starts, and nothing is altered until you agree. Cleaning charges for the same garment follow our usual per-piece rates on the price list.
How to describe the job
A clear brief avoids a second visit.
- Send a photo of the problem on WhatsApp to 9115-505-505.
- For hems, mark the new length with a safety pin or chalk while wearing the shoes you plan to wear with it.
- Check inside the garment for spare buttons; many shirts and blazers carry one on the inner seam or the care label, and an exact match always looks better.
- For wedding wear, mention any loose beadwork or hooks so they are handled with the cleaning. Our wedding wear page explains how embellished garments are cleaned.
